A Series A priced on a product that didn't exist yet

A deck came in raising a Series A on a valuation that already assumed a product they hadn't built. The AI feature justifying the number was about two-thirds of the raise and wasn't running at any real scale yet. Verdict flagged it: the thing the valuation leans on is a plan, not a fact. Maybe they build it. But investors notice when the thing they're paying for is the thing that isn't there.

The fund matchmaker got a big upgrade

Biggest update to the matchmaker since it launched. It covers more funds now, weighted toward emerging markets, and it checks how recently a fund has actually been active so a quiet one doesn't show up as a strong match. I also moved it up front on the dashboard instead of leaving it buried at the bottom.

I caught one of our own grades inflating, and shut it off

A change meant to stop the moat grade reading too harsh went too far and started nudging almost every memo up, even the ones that earned a low grade.
